This piece emerged from a deep remembering. The tiger is not an external symbol — she is the part of me (and perhaps of every woman) that has been asked to soften, to tame, to smile politely. In bringing her forward, I wanted to explore what happens when the wild is no longer hidden, but integrated. The gaze here is not aggressive. It is witnessing. It is the soul looking at itself without flinching.
I painted this during a period of reclaiming my own edges. The black and white treatment felt necessary — it strips away distraction and leaves only the truth of the meeting between instinct and presence.
